Technical memorandum and drawings
Drafted with the qualified technician: memorandum, layout and services drawings and, where applicable, structural calculations.
This page explains how the technical project and the municipal licence work together as the documentary tandem of the works. Each one also has its own dedicated page: Technical projects and Licences.
In Málaga — and across every Costa del Sol municipality — works are classified basically as minor or major. Minor works are usually processed via prior notification or responsible declaration; major works require a stamped project and an express licence from the town hall.
Our role is to take the project from the first idea through to approval: drafting with the qualified technician, stamping if required, submission to the town hall, response to technical requirements and notification of start and finish of works. During execution we keep the works aligned with the approved file.
If you are looking for information specifically, go straight to its individual page: Technical projects (drafting, drawings, site supervision) or Licences (procedure at the town hall). This page remains as a combined view of how both services work together.
The documentation flow runs from before the first day on site through to the final notification of completion.

This page keeps the combined view of the two documentary pillars of any work above a certain scope: the technical project and the municipal licence. They are complementary but distinct services. The technical project is the document signed by the qualified technician (architect, surveyor or engineer) that describes the works with memorandum, drawings, quantities and budget. The licence is the administrative act of the town hall that authorises execution. First the project is drafted; then it is submitted to the town hall to obtain the licence.
For the technical detail of each service, consult the matching individual page. The Technical projects page describes the drafting phases (survey, preliminary design, drafting with the qualified technician, professional-body stamp and site supervision) and the minimum deliverables. The Licences page breaks down the three municipal regimes (prior notification, minor works licence and major works licence), the typical timelines (immediate, 1-3 months and 3-9 months respectively) and the orderly-file points we verify before registering.
For major works the project and the licence travel on the same calendar: there is no licence without a stamped project, and the works cannot start without the express grant. For that reason we coordinate drafting and processing from the first quote, so the client knows when they can commit dates with trades and when the project really closes. During execution we maintain site supervision to keep the works aligned with the approved file.
